Obesity in America
|
The number of overweight and obese adults in the United States is
increasing at an alarming rate. The latest studies show that 65% of adult
Americans are considered to be overweight or obese. This is an increase of
36% since the 1976-1980 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey
(NHANES). Even more alarming is the 106% increase of obese cases over this
same period! Since the latest NHANES study, completed for 1999-2002, 30%
of adult Americans are considered to be obese.
